The cottages are situated on the edge of the village of Payrac and it is only a leisurely ten minute walk to bakers, general store, pharmacy, restaurants and bar.

The local restaurants offer a good selection of local specialities.

The village of Payrac is on the Lot/Dordogne border and is 10 miles from Souillac on the Dordogne River and 30 miles from Cahors on the Lot River. It provides a base with easy access to all of the attractions of the area including the cave sites of Peche Merle, Padirac and Les Eyzies, the beautiful medieval cliff town of Rocamadour and the many historical bastide sites.

Local activities include horse riding, golf, canoeing and, of course, walking.

There are many wines produced throughout the area, notably the AOC vin de Cahors (red) and the crisp whites of Bergerac.

Most of the wine producing chateaux invite you to a degustation (tasting) before you buy.

When it comes to food you are spoilt for choice with the local specialities including duck, foie gras, truffles and walnuts.

Germinal (Sleeps 2- 6)

Entrance leads into spacious living/dining room with well-equipped corner kitchen. The dining area seats 6 and there are easy chairs and a double sofa bed (additional sleeping area).

The hallway leads to a modern bathroom and separate W.C.

Bedroom 1 overlooks the garden and has a double bed.

Bedroom 2 has 3 single beds.

Both have ample clothes storage space.

Floréal (Sleeps 2- 8)

Entrance into roomy living/dining/kitchen with orginal cantou (inglenook fireplace).

The dining area seats 8 and there are easy chairs and a double sofa bed (additional sleeping area).

Bedroom 1 is to the rear of the house with a double bed and en suite shower room with w.c. On the first floor, reached by a spiral staircase, there is a bathroom with w.c., a double bedroom and a further bedroom with three single beds

Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, microwave, oven and hob.

A washing machine is available for use in the utility room situated in the sous-sol.

The swimming pool is situated in the garden to the rear of the property. It is 12m x 6m with a sun terrace. The pool is available for use from mid May until the end of September - dependent on weather.

The garden is fully enclosed.

Each cottage has it's own terrace with garden furniture and barbecue.

To secure your rental a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost is required with the balance payable 6 weeks before arrival.

A security deposit of £100 is required against damage/breakages which, if not required, will be refunded on departure.

Toulouse airport (Blagnac) is about 1 hours drive.

Bergerac (flights from many UK airports and Orly) is less than 1.5 hours drive.

French motor rail runs to Brive (about 45 minutes) and the A20 motorway is only 15 minutes away.

Both Gourdon and Souillac (each about 20 minutes away) have regular SNCF (French railways) connections from Paris.

Car hire is available at the airports.
